Do you think middle class families would face a threat of physical harm from union leaders if Obama wins?
Do you think middle class families would face a threat of physical harm from union leaders and their associates if Obama wins and he signs into law his so-called “Employee Free Choice Act”?
This misguided measure passed the House shortly after Democrats took the majority in 2007.
Barack Obama has co-cponsored and promised as President to sign it into law.
John McCain has promised to VETO it.
This is Obama’s “card check” legislation that would abolish secret ballot elections in determining whether employees are represented by unions. The unions’ strategy is obvious: Send a few thugs over to employees’ homes - we know where you live - and get them to sign cards that will trigger a union victory without giving employers a chance to be heard.
USA Today has come out with this passionate editorial against it:
http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2008/10/our-view-on-lab.html
What do you suppose they mean by “The proposed change would give unions and pro-union employees more incentive to use peer pressure, or worse, to persuade reluctant workers to sign their cards.” ?
Long time pro-Union Democrat George McGovern has even joined an ad campaign against Obama’s plan saying that “It’s hard to believe that any politician would agree to a law denying millions of employees the right to a private vote”

No, and I think the idea is ludicrous and using this fear tactic to scare voters is very underhanded (which is typical for the GOP)

There appears to be a rash of paranoia this morning.

No, we might keep the middle class if we kept unions and worker’s rights. Wages, adjusted for inflation, have stagnated for the past 20+ years.

Unions helped build our middle class, which is now in decline. No, I don’t think that middle class families would be in danger if Obama wins. I think they would benefit greatly if Obama wins.
We need to help strengthen unions, stop giving tax breaks to companies that outsource jobs and protect and build the job base in this country. There is a lot of repair work to do to try to reverse the trend of eroding our job base but it can be done.

THEY WILL DEFINITELY FACE A THREAT WHEN APPROACHED BY A UNION THUG ALL BUT TELLING HIM HOW TO VOTE. I FIND IT QUITE INTERESTING THAT IN ONE COMMERCIAL AGAINST THIS THEY USE THE ACTOR WHO PLAYED ‘JOHNNY SAC’ ON THE
SOPRANOS.
